In this time of the global pandemic, what I need, and I believe most fans of a good movie, is a new, fresh story, with a mysterious plot, in the field of a science fiction adventure or action thriller. One upcoming film caught my attention with the hope that it might meet some expectations.
A new Sci-Fi action movie called “Cosmic Sin” starring Bruce Willis, is coming soon, and it was produced by Saban Films.
What can we expect from this movie and what kind of story it brings us are questions that we, fans of science fiction, are very interested in.
We will now take a look at what is known so far about this action movie.
Movie plot
First, a trailer for this movie has been released, revealing the first outlines and some facts about the plot, so we can conclude a bit in which direction the action takes place.
The film takes place in the year 2524, when humans have already largely mastered space travel and began to colonize the planets in distant parts of the universe. The trailer shows that a wrecked alien ship was found on a distant planet, and humans soon realize that this is a huge threat to humanity. At the beginning of the trailer, General Eron Ryle (Frank Grillo) is trying to persuade James Ford (Bruce Willis) to join a mission to destroy the newly discovered extraterrestrial Stargate to prevent the annihilation of the human race. The military operation that was launched in order to carry out that mission is called Cosmic Sin, and that is how the movie got its name. The movie abounds with space combat, and we also see people in some sort of advanced spacesuits that allow them to fly in space.
Similarity with previous projects
This movie is somewhat reminiscent of the famous video game franchise Halo, in which the human race clashes with an alien race called ”the Covenant”. Like Cosmic Sin, in Halo, which came out in 2001 with Halo: Combat Evolved, there is an intergalactic conflict in which famous space rangers called ”Spartans” fight for humanity.
It will be interesting to see 65-year-old Willis deals with the next threat of world destruction, as he has had experience with this type of film in the past starring in 1997’s The Fifth Element and 1998’s Armageddon.
Cast, release date
The film brought together a respectable cast that, in addition to Willis and Grillo, also includes Adelaide Kane, Corey Large, Brandon Thomas Lee, Perrey Reeves, Lochlyn Munro, CJ Perry, as well as Costas Mandylor. Edward Drake directed this film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Corey Large. Corey also has a role in the movie.
Cosmic Sin will appear in cinemas on demand, and the digital version will be released on March 12, 2021.
