The Meg (2018)

The Meg, a group of people in an underwater laboratory

The Meg (2018) is a SciFi action movie directed by Jon Turteltaub.
An international underwater center led by Chinese scientists is hit by an unknown threat. Dr. Zhang Suyin, the leading oceanographer in the center, is calling for the help of the former marine captain and expert diver Jonas Taylor (Statham).

Jonas Taylor enters an adventure that is straightforward suicide. During the survey, they encounter the megalodon, the prehistoric ancestor of today’s shark and living fossil, which escapes from its “jail” in depths and begins to terrorize civilization near the Chinese coast. A few years earlier, Taylor met this unknown, terrifying threat that forced him to end his mission. Now he has to deal with his old fears and move into a final clash with this sea monster.
